Hello! Welcome to The Last Resort, a
private rescue for abandoned and unwanted American Pit Bull Terriers. The Last Resort is a
private foster home based rescue run completely on its own without corporate funding or non-profit
status. We make every effort to save what dogs we can, and we concentrate on
making a small difference one dog at a time.
Here at The Last Resort we believe that there are no bad dogs, just poor owners.
We have found that lack of socialization, improper training methods, and poor handling are all
common problems observed in a large percentage of homeless dogs. Due to negative publicity,
media stereotypes, ignorance and fear, the
public has become horrified by pit bulls. With the pet overpopulation skyrocketing
and indiscriminate breeding flourishing, the streets and shelters have become
overburdened. The sad reality is that when this breed ends up in shelters most
become euthanasia statistics. The average shelter does not have the time nor the
resources to effectively place this breed.

your research and consider rescue dogs as an option. Make sure that this is the
